Chapter 3

Ephesians   3:1-13      Paul the Preacher to the Gentiles

Father, thank you for Paul and his teaching.   May we too see your purpose in our current situations.................enable us to be willing to suffer if it furthers your purpose.   Thank you that he tells how you called him, may he be an inspiration to teachers and leaders today.    May we understand his insight and pray that such insight might be ours today.    We look for and rejoice in all your revelations O Lord, may we understand how we are one body................. May we see more of your power in this body.   Use your Church Lord to declare your Wisdom and Truth to all the heavenly realms.     Yours is the Victory in Christ our Saviour, the Glory and the Majesty.................For everything in heaven and earth is yours................. We would give ourselves to you Lord................. Teach  and help us to surrender all.

Praise you Jesus that through you we can approach the Father without fear.    Thank you for setting us free.    Free to be united with you as was your intention from the beginning.................  Keep us close O Lord until we truly know this and let us not forget that this is to your glory.................

Ephesians   3:14-21      A Prayer for the Ephesians               

Thank you Jesus for this prayer and for the inspiration it has been since it was written.     Give us the grace to make it our own.

So Father we do approach you in confidence.     May we absorb now our Father's Love.................  Thank you for that Love, may it overwhelm us and cause us to sit at your feet, unable to move away, so that we can receive those riches, which you long to give your Church, in abundance.................

Now is the time for the healing of pain................. pour in your Love and Peace O Lord.    We hold especially those members of the Church who have hurting memories of fathers, and who find it difficult to relate to you as Father.      Give them grace to receive Lord.................

.......that we may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God.....

We hold on to that Lord, knowing that we can offer no greater prayer for your Holy Church.

And you can do more, immeasurably more, than we ask................. or dare to ask................. May that power be so strongly at work in us that you are truly glorified by your Church.

Such Love - Can my heart contain so much Love?

But the Power of the Holy Spirit can supply the Faith that I need to believe that Christ can not only live but reign in my heart....

So what does it require of me....?

To lift up my heart to Him, to surrender everything....
my whole life has to be an offering to Him....
a living sacrifice of praise....of love....and joy....
He will purify my every thought, even give me a new heart....
A heart that can know the unknowable LOVE of God....
and this is for all God's people..........

Longing consumes me Lord - I seem to want the impossible -
but am I prepared to make that offering? - and yet -

the Power of the Holy Spirit can supply the Faith that I need to believe that Christ can not only live but reign in my heart....
and I am only asked to believe7

Holy, Holy, Holy is the LORD God Almighty

Dare I pray Lord that we might be like you.................
Eph 4:24.................Phil 3:10.................1 John 4:17.................Gal.2:20.

I hear the Lord's reply as John Chapter 15.................Abide in ME.          

Thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit, may I give Him space.
