Chapter
6
Ephesians
6:1-4 Children
and Parents
We pray for our children Lord. May they know both your Love and ours, and that it is the reason for obedience. We pray for us all to have patience with our children...............let us remember that they learn by our actions.
We pray for wisdom in the church to teach both parents and children. Only you Lord can overcome the family problems of today, let us remember that we can ask for your help................let us expect and wait for the answers.
Ephesians 6:5-9 Slaves and Masters
We may not have slaves today but may we take these commands to the workplace, where there are both bosses and workers................
May our service in our churches and in voluntary agencies also be guided by our understanding of true service for you Lord.
Ephesians 6:10-20 The Armour of God
Thank you Father for your protection, that we can trust you for our safety. Yours is the mighty power, yours the victory already won and we would proclaim it to the authorities and powers by standing with you in the heavenly realms. We praise you for the armour, every part of it is Christ Himself................and we rejoice that we are counted worthy to wear it................I pray that no Christian will neglect it.
You are our righteousness and so we dare even to approach your throne, far above the principalities and powers.
You too are truth and peace, let us wear that comfortable belt and shoes and not be afraid as we proclaim your gospel.
Never let us forget that we have the helmet of salvation and help us to keep that shield bright and shining, reflecting your light.
And "Let the word of Christ dwell in us richly" 9 may we daily make an effort to sharpen that sword by never failing to read your word.
Lord we would constantly pray in the Spirit................ so we surrender all of ourselves................ yours is the authority as we submit our will to you, to intercede with Jesus. Thank you that you desire our prayers for the saints: for these members of your Church today who may seem ordinary mortals but to you they are precious, holy, children that you would lead by your Holy Spirit.
Give them courage Lord to live your Holy Gospel, knowing your Love and Peace and Joy. Give them them wisdom and strength as they proclaim your truth.
May it be to your Praise and Glory.
Ephesians
6:21-24 Final
Greetings
Thank you for this final touch of care that we see in Paul's letters. His respect for those who served him, his love for those to whom he wrote. Perhaps we could learn by studying his greetings and noting that he gives you all the Praise and Glory.
Thanks be to God

I say, "I have been crucified with
