Is the Sky the Limit?

It was at a Renewal Meeting when at prayer I was very aware of the words, "The Sky is the Limit".   Several times I laid it down but I then found myself questioning the  words.

We use the expression to indicate a maximum, a peak of achievement perhaps.   We had during the evening been exhorted to give our whole selves, to give everything to the Lord.   I saw  "the Sky is the Limit" as being the maximum that we thought it was possible to give but at the same time I was very aware that God gives much more in return.  I started to pray and saw how small our maximum was when compared to the limitless love He gave us in return.

He rejoices in our giving of ourselves and showers us with his love and peace and joy.   If we give our all then He gives much more out of His limitless bounty.  

But do we receive?   Are we able to receive?   Or do we miss out because we are not used to communicating with God?

So how can we receive?

Come rest in His presence, lay down your cares and focus on Him alone.    Lift up your heart and let the Holy Spirit minister to you.    Gradually as you surrender yourself you will know the presence of God and His love........His love which has NO LIMIT.
