Message from Steve |
I
was sitting at my computer ready to write this article and as is my wont
whenever I have something to write I talk to God about it, so I said,
“Ok Lord, how are we going to tackle this?
What do you want me to write? And
God replied by saying, “tell my people that I love them”.
So, to all of you who read this article,
“GOD LOVES YOU”!
Now
after I had written that I thought to myself, I wonder how many people realise
that, I mean really realise that. It’s
something that we have all heard every Sunday for more years than we care to
remember, but how often have we really sat down and thought about that statement
of fact, the fact that God loves us.
He
is the Creator of the universe and everything in it, we are stubborn rebellious
creatures who take every advantage, continually spurn him and go about
satisfying our own selfish desires.
And the fact that most of the time we don’t realize that we are
spurning him and selfishly looking after ourselves doesn’t diminish the hurt
he feels at our behaviour. Surely
we can relate to that? After
all how would we feel if our own children treated us like that?
But
you know, the wonderful thing about our God is that it doesn’t matter how many
times we get it wrong and go our own way he is always there, right by the side
of us through whatever life throws at us ready to help us and bless us.
And oh how he rejoices when we turn to him and call him Father, and
praise him and acknowledge his rightful place in our lives.
He can forgive and welcome us more times than we could ever let him down,
what a wonderful, wonderful God we have.
So right now I want you to go back to line 4, to the words God loves
you and read them again. Meditate
on them. Let them soak into the very fibres of your being so that you can truly
know and understand what it means for the creator God to take such interest in
you personally.
God
bless.

……..and
a message from the Secretary
Not
forgetting what Steve has just said.
The Executive believe that ARM(Wales) has a part to play in God’s plan.
Just because we don’t appear to be very active at the moment doesn’t
mean that we are closing down or winding up – that is unless the membership
forces us into that position!
Yes, we have money that we want to use to support renewal in Wales and particularly within the Anglican Church. We are willing to be a resource as much as we are able but we are only as strong as our membership, through whom God acts.
We are hoping to work alongside ReSource, the old A.R.M. from England, who have started making inroads into Wales. We are not planning to change our name but to emphasise our Anglican character, as expressed in our Statement.
We
are delighted that Bishop Saunders, one of our Spiritual Advisers, has agreed to
speak at the A.G.M.
He has taken a keen interest in all our doings recently and provided
valuable support when it was needed.
But we do also need more support from our Members, both practical through
building up the Executive Committee and providing ideas and material for this
Magazine, and spiritual support through your prayers.
And do come to Flames of Fire (RWS Builth Wells August 4th-10th)
where we will have a stand in the Marketplace that will be our window on Wales.
Please encourage like-minded people to join our membership.
