A
Letter from our Chairman
Dear
The desire of the Executive, and of the all
the teams who put on our August conference, is that the Lord our God may have
His Will done. I
returned home from this Conference feeling that we had all said to Him “Your
Will be done”, and that He had graciously heard us.
Everyone has his or her response, and story to tell.
So my response is just that -
my own personal heart full of thanks to God for answering my prayers.
Amongst many others, two answers stand out for
me in my responsibility as Chairman.
When I took this role in 1998 I was afraid of the scale of our debts –
though some lovely Christian friends of ARM Wales had given us interest-free
loans to cover the deficit. But
I felt that if we were faithful, then the Lord would free us from debt in two or three years. Well, it was twenty two months and I give thanks and
praise to God. We now have
some money in the bank, and it will enable us to make good plans for 2001 and
also fund other outreach events in the next few months.
Next August, I trust, we will know, from the Lord how we should use our
surplus somewhere in the world. Our
thanks also go to those anonymous saints who
stood by us in these two years.
Secondly, I always wish to “build team” in
the widest sense. We can’t
run an event in which we hope people will get blessed, if we don’t love one
another as we should. We in
the team are all there for the campers, but also for one another. I believe
that this has been very real in the last two Conferences – and that it
will continue to deepen, as long as
we press on with it in the Holy Spirit.
Many people have commented on the lovely atmosphere at the event – and
it is due:
1) to the Lord answering prayer,
2) to a wonderful team and
3) to you!
We have also had some lovely testimonies of
blessings given by God at Builth Wells.
Love in Christ.
